I just don't understand this guy?

so this happenned to me last night...i really like the guy and i'm just so unsure about everything that happenned and that i did. before i go into the story, neither of us was drinking at all. so here's what happenned... i was at a college party, and i was dancing with one of my friends, mindng my own business. all of a sudden, i felt someone grab my hand from behind. i turned around, and i saw that it was a guy whom i had seen around school a few times (and always thought was REALLY hot), but never spoken to. he pulled me towards him, and we were dancing normally for about five minutes and talking, and we found out we had a lot in common. then the talking sort of slowed down and we were just dancing. i really suck at normal dancing, so i actually said to him, 'i'm sorry, i really suck at this', and he responded, 'the guy cant do much, it takes the girl to get things going'. so i took that as a cue to get closer (just for another opinion... did i take that the right way??) and took a huge step inwards, and then he pulled me closer. and we started grinding... for a LONG time (like 20 minutes). while we were doing that, he kept on making moves on me... like, when we were doing it facing each other, he would start out with his arms around my waist, and then after 5 minutes move them higher up. and when we were back grinding, he would start putting his head on my shoulder. i'm assuming he wanted to make out, but i kinda dont like doing it with people whom i havent officially met before, so i didnt. so after that 20 minute intense dance session, he went to the bathroom and said he wanted to rest for a few minutes. the party was pretty much over by then though, and the rest of the time, he just sat at the bar area and stared at me dancing. he was standing off to the side by himself as i was leaving, and i just waved and left b/c the bus which was taking me back to school was about to leave (he drove himself to the bar where the party was so he didnt have that problem). what should i make of this?? does he like me? i REALLY like the guy but i dont want to be under any false illusions... i know that grinding with someone doesn't necessarily mean they like you, but its just the way that it happenned that is confusing me. and do you think i should have just gone with all the moves he was making?? would he be mad that i didnt? i was unsure about it the whole time even though i did like him, just b/c i barely knew him. help, im having an emotional crisis here!! thankyou for all answers.
