Talked to a Navy Recruiter but...?

Hey I'm looking at joining the Navy Nurse Corp and I went in to talk to a recruiter today. He was telling me that if I go to school for my BSN then I get enlisted there is no guarantee that job will be on the list. Do I get the choice not to pick a job and come back the next month and check to see if the job I want is there? Thanks for your help.
