BMW E46 320 driver side mirror up down not working?

You will need a new mirror motor assembly (has a horizontal motor and a vertical motor). Failure is relatively common. Remove the mirror glass, remove the old motor- install the new one. Some of them require splicing the new motor into place - later motors were nice enough to include a connector.
