What kind of eye problem is this?

So, all my life I have worn glasses. When I was little, my left eye would turn inwards.(Like I'm cross-eyed in one eye) I'm also farsighted in both eyes. As I've grown older I can control my left eye to stay in the center. If I take my glasses off and cover my left eye I can see pretty well (apart from up close since I am farsighted) What condition is it that I have in my left eye? I've been to the doctor and everything but I am just curious because I have forgotten what it is called. Thanks.
